Building a house is a very personal experience, so a strong relationship with your builder can often be the key to achieving your vision of not just a house, but a home.
For that fundamental reason, I think potential buyers should know my background as well.
My name is David Dodd and I am a native of Broken Arrow. I graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1980 and my parents are still living in the home where I grew up. I build homes primarily in Broken Arrow and believe my history and commitment to this community is a quality difficult with other builders who work all over the region.
I was fortunate to get my first construction experience after school and on weekends while still in high school. I worked for a local builder/remodeler, and gained experience in all facets of building from roofing, insulating, drywall, trim work and painting to concrete finishing, and carpentry. I knew early on that building was my passion so I supplemented my education at Tulsa Vo-Tech where I studied carpentry my Junior and Senior years.
Following high school, I went to work as a framer for Paul Christian, a builder in the Leisure Park neighborhood of south Broken Arrow. In late 1981 Rex Alexander, a member of my church, hired me as a construction superintendent – a tremendous responsibility for a twenty-year-old – and we built homes all over the Broken Arrow and Tulsa area. I built well over 1,000 homes in the 21 years I worked with Rex and in that time I learned all phases of the home building process. Throughout that time I formed many personal relationships with contractors and suppliers, some of whom are the excellent craftsmen I use today.
In August 2002, I decided to take all the experience I had gained throughout my career and start my own company. From the beginning, we were determined to approach homebuilding differently. We at Banner Custom Homes do not adhere to a cookie cutter philosophy of building homes. We encourage people to customize for their personal needs and wants. Our standard features are often considered extra for a majority of our competitors. Another important benefit for our clients is that we personally supervise the construction of each home from start to finish. In addition, we personally select each sub-contractor that works on your home to ensure the quality and attention to detail that I demand.
We take pride in doing things right and believe it shows in the quality of Banner Custom Homes. We invite you to sit down with us and discuss your needs and desires for your home. We can use one of our many stock floor plans or we can modify these plans to fit your needs. We have an excellent designer who has designed homes for over 30 years. If you like a kitchen from one plan, but a master bed and bath from another and a living space from yet another we can combine those elements to design the home of your dreams.
We believe our mission statement sums up our approach to home building:
Banner Custom Homes is committed to quality based on experience and design; a dedication to excellence; and a responsibility to each buyer to build a home that exceeds their expectations. We know building a home is as much about comfort and security for your family as the bricks and mortar on your house. At Banner Custom Homes you will not get a high-pressure sales pitch just a commitment to design and build a house you will be proud to call home.
